Process

We at American Polymers Corporation can work with our clients in many different ways as described on our Services page. Our process is time-tested and supported by the strong, reliable relationships Kevin Copeland, Phil Farnsworth and our team of experts have built over the last 30 years. Our basic process works as follows:

If you are a seller:

  1. Call or email one of our account managers and explain the polymer you want to sell.
  2. Be prepared to answer as best as you can questions like the following about your plastic:
    • What is the plastic (i.e. ABS, Acrylic, Polyethylene, Nylon, PBT, SAN)?
    • What form is the plastic in (i.e. pellets, parts, films, resin, purges, regrinds, scrap, debris)?
    • What grade is the plastic?
    • Does your plastic have any contaminants (i.e. amount, type)?
    • How much of the plastic do you have (weight is the preferred measure)?
    • Where is the plastic located? Is it all in one spot, building, city, etc.?
    • In what kind of packaging or container is the plastic? How are you currently storing it?
    • Is there urgency in selling your plastic? If so, when do you need to complete the sale?
    • What price would you like to get for your plastic?
    • Do you have a picture of your plastic? Can you forward it to us?
    • What do you need to do in order to prepare your plastic for sale? Do you want us to help with that?
  3. We’ll analyze your offering and advise you on how we can best help meet your objectives.
  4. When you and American Polymers Corporation agree on a pricing strategy, usually per pound, and agree on other requirements to make your sale successful, we then take your offer to market.
  5. When we find a buyer for your plastic, we purchase it from you, coordinate with your transportation and logistics department.

If you are a buyer:

  1. Call or email one of our account managers and explain the polymer you want to buy.
  2. Be prepared to answer as best as you can questions like the following about the plastic you want:
    • What plastic do you want (i.e. ABS, Acrylic, Polyethylene, Nylon, PBT, SAN)?
    • In what form do you need it (i.e. pellets, parts, films, resin, purges, regrinds, scrap, debris)?
    • What grade does your plastic need to be?
    • Will you require a sample or testing of a sample?
    • For what use will this plastic serve?
    • How much of the plastic do you want (weight is the preferred measure)?
    • Where do you need the plastic delivered?
    • When do you need the plastic delivered?
    • Do you have any packaging requirements for your plastic?
    • What price would you like to pay for your plastic?
    • Do you have a picture of what you need? Can you forward it to us?
    • Will you need this plastic on an ongoing basis or is this for a single use?
    • What other requirements do you have before you can purchase a plastic offering that we will present to you?
  3. We’ll analyze your requirements and advise you on how we can best help meet your requirements and delivery dates.
  4. When you and American Polymers Corporation agree on a pricing strategy, usually per pound, and agree on other requirements to produce a successful purchase, we take your offer to market.
  5. When we find a seller or sellers for the plastic you want, we purchase it from the seller, sell it to you and coordinate transportation and other logistics.

Again, even though this is our basic process for recycling post industrial polymers, we are extremely comfortable working in many other ways to accommodate your unique polymer requirements.
